Both clubs had a very successful weekend trialling for the Irish High Performance team.
Day 1 consisted of a 6k Time Trial in Singles or Pairs. In the Under 23 Men’s Single , Ross Corrigan came 3rd, Aaron Christie 7th and Matthew Riordan 8th. Hugh Moore came 2nd in the Under 23 Men’s Lightweight Single. Ruth Carson won the Under 23 Women’s pair.
On the second day all the attending athletes were put into crew boats to compete in a second 6k time trial. Ross Corrigan was partnered with his U23 European Championship doubles partner Alex Byrne, whilst Aaron Christie and Matthew Riordan paired up. They came 1st and 2nd respectively. Hugh Moore was partnered with Rory O’Neill winning the U23 Men’s Lightweight Double. Ruth Carson returned in her U23 Women’s Pair and came 2nd.
Unfortunately, there were a number of our athletes that couldn’t compete due to illness or injury. We hope Miles Taylor, Ryan Ballentine and William Taylor all get well soon!
